FuriosaAI is raising capital for two different hardware cycles at once: scaling a shipping inference platform and developing its successor. Its October 28 Series D provides a useful view of the financing burden between a second-generation chip and a broader commercial footprint.

The company announcement reports $620 million raised at a $2.9 billion post-money valuation. Furiosa says RNGD entered mass production in January 2026 and that the round supports global deployment, production growth and development of third-generation silicon.

Production plans are not delivery receipts

Furiosa says it expects to produce 20,000 RNGD cards in 2026 and more than double production in 2027, with memory and fabrication capacity secured. Those are company plans and supply statements, not audited shipment or revenue totals. The distinction matters because manufactured inventory must still be qualified, delivered and used.

The release names Samsung SDS’s NPU service and LG Group deployments as examples of customer adoption. It does not disclose their contract values, utilization or margins. A named deployment is evidence of an application, not a complete measure of the economics of scaling it.

Fund both the product and the support system

An accelerator supplier also has to maintain software compatibility as models change. Capital allocated to a future chip does not eliminate the ongoing cost of supporting the installed product. Customers need a stable serving stack and a clear upgrade path, while investors need to understand that overlapping obligation.

If production and customer adoption grow together, the new funding could help Furiosa widen its role in enterprise inference. The next evidence is repeatable delivery and paid use of RNGD, followed by documented milestones for the next chip, rather than interpreting the valuation as proof of commercial scale.
