Clark announced an $11 million seed round on November 2, led by Touring Capital with returning investors Marathon Management Partners, Rerail and Sofeon Ventures. Planned uses include expanding product, engineering and sales teams and supporting more engagement types.

The financing supports a vertical workflow

The investment centres on Clerks, agents that carry audit work through documents, testing and client follow-up. Licensed professionals remain responsible for judgement and sign-off, so commercial adoption depends on fitting the firm’s review process.

Customer count has limits

Clark reports use by more than 35 CPA firms. That establishes a stated customer footprint, but the release provides no recurring revenue, contract value or retention data. Those measures would help distinguish trial use from durable expansion.

Execution quality drives expansion

The opportunity is repeated use in evidence-intensive work. Review effort, error correction and implementation costs will influence the economics. Touring’s published investment thesis places the expansion of substantive work at the centre of its rationale.
